10 tips for successful business by Dan Sautner

Padgett Business Services Scholarship Program

scholarship award photoBeing a small, independent business owner can be rewarding but it is not always easy. Maintaining a profitable operation presents challenges not faced by large corporations and the resources available to big businesses often are not accessible to smaller organizations. Even more importantly, the small business owner must often struggle to provide a quality lifestyle for his or her family. Basic needs must be met for clothing, food, shelter, and education. Always sensitive to the needs of this special entrepreneur, Padgett Business Services is proud to offer a $500 scholarship in your community to a graduating high school senior whose parent or guardian owns and operates a small business. This regional award is part of an international program in which Padgett will offer more than $100,000 in scholarship monies throughout the United States and Canada. Since 1990, Padgett has awarded over $500,000 to dependents of small business owners. In order to be eligible for the Padgett Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • be a dependent of a small business owner who employs fewer than 20individuals," owns at least 10% of the stock or capital of the business, and is active in the day to day operations of the organization
  • be a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited post-secondary Institution
